I'm sorry to hear that the additional copy of "Trainspotting" order via the morebooks service was also recalled, and that in the end you had to buy a copy of the book. The Library tries to ensure it has sufficient copies of books to support the number of students on a course, but inevitably there are times when demand exceeds expectation, this is obviously very frustrating for all involved.
Thanks for taking the time to let us know that you think the Library is a great resource, and that you've found the staff to be helpful. I hope your experience won't put you off using the Morebooks service in the future.
