Thank you for your feedback on your recent visit to Special Collections.  I am sorry that you find the current procedures to access our material so frustrating, but I assure you that we do the best we can in the circumstances, and make every effort to facilitate access, rather than hamper research. The need to order everything in advance does make it time-consuming and difficult to follow leads for checking references and bibliographies but our staff will always do what they can to assist.

The Napier Special Collections Reading Room in Martyrs was an attempt to give readers much improved facilities while the question of suitable accommodation for Special Collections is addressed by the University.  You will understand that this is a complex project which will take some time to bring to completion.
