Thank you for taking the time to complete a Library feedback card and please accept my apologies for the delay in my reply.
Unfortunately our electronic resource licenses only cover current students and staff of the University. This is standard across libraries of Higher Education institutions. However we do have ‘walk in’ access to a limited number of electronic resources on a dedicated PC on Level 3 of the Main Library. A user name and password for this can be obtained at the IT Service Desk. We also feel that despite the lack of access to e-resources our annual fee of £30 for external membership is very reasonable and represents good value for money.
The National Library of Scotland do provide access to a growing number of online academic resources to anyone with a residential address in Scotland. More details on these digital collections and how to register can be found here: https://auth.nls.uk/ldc/
Please do not hesitate to get back in touch if I can be of any further assistance.
