I am sorry to hear that you have lost so many ID cards though I do note that a lot of phones also end up in Library lost property – so transferring the technology to another device won’t necessarily solve that problem!
Having said that I do like the concept and I have passed your feedback on to colleagues in IT Services. At the moment ID cards have swipe, chip and barcode technology so any innovation would take time and involve cost for new kit – however I will leave it to my colleagues in IT Services to comment on how this might work technically.
