Thanks for taking the time to complete a "You said, We did" card asking about the set-up of our printers and how we organised our DVD collection.
For printers, the settings can be changed to meet your preferences. Please speak to one of the staff at the IT Service Desk who can show you how to do this, or see the Uniprint guide for students.
Our DVD collections is classified using the Library of Congress Classification Scheme, the same scheme used to classify all our other collections. There are three main classifications within the DVD collection:
- PN1997 - for motion pictures produced up to and including the year 2000
- PN1997.2 - for motion pictures produced from 2001 onwards
- PN1992.77 - for television programmes
Within the three sections DVDs are organised alphabetically by film/series title, with some having an additional division by director when needed.
Using the Library of Congress Classification Scheme with the DVD collections maintains consistency with the rest of the Library's collections.
If you need any help finding anything in the DVD collection, or elsewhere, please ask the staff at the Library Service Desk who'll be happy to help.
Thanks again for your enquiry,
Academic Liaison Librarian
