Thanks for completing a Library feedback card at the weekend about your use of Martyrs Kirk this year.

You might be aware that this is the first semester during which we’ve allowed all PG students equal access to the building since we opened it 4 years ago.  You are right that we often get negative feedback – which is fine of course! – so it is nice to hear a positive testimonial like yours.

The reading room has definitely busier than it was this time last year but as a result, we have had a few issues with things like noise and seat hogging.  Our intention is to provide more of a staffed presence in the PG reading room next semester for at least some of the time.  We also hope to introduce targeted intervention on seat hogging in a similar way to what we’ve done at St Mary’s College Library since May this year.  These two developments should help to improve the experience for all users of this beautiful facility.

Thanks again for your comments.
