The Library café is run by our colleagues in Residential and Business Services but I'm afraid there are no plans to provide a microwave for Library users, mainly due to a lack of appropriate space but also because of hygiene concerns. We do feel that having the Library cafe on site alongside the vending machines and the facility for hot food to be consumed in the cafe after it closes provides users with sufficient options.
When the cafe is increased in size as part of our next planned redevelopment work in summer 2020, it may be possible to incorporate a microwave but this will be a decision for RBS. I shall certainly pass your feedback onto them in the meantime.
