Thanks for your comments.  I'm afraid that we have no additional space in the Main Library just now to provide more tables and chairs.  We will be adding just over another 70 study spaces in the summer vacation but this involves the rearrangement of bookstock, so has to be done outwith semester.

In the meantime, please take a look at our recent blog post which highlights the additional study spaces provided by the University until the end of the exam period.  You can also make use of the lower ground area of the Gateway building on the North Haugh which is open 9am-9.30pm to all students, 7 days a week.

We also have libraries at St Mary's College and the JF Allen Library in Physics and Astronomy, information about which is available on our website.

Longer term, the University does plan to develop the lower ground area of the Main Library in 2 years, which will ultimately provide an additional 375 study spaces but I appreciate that doesn't help you right now.  We can't do this development any sooner as this part of the Library is currently occupied by our general collections store and some staff accommodation.  Until the new Eden Campus accommodation is completed in late 2019 and to which our store and staff accommodation will relocate, we are unable to covert this space to student use.

Best wishes
