When you see the status "On Holdshelf" on a book record this means the book has been set aside for someone to collect.
Books will stay on the Hold Shelf for 5 days, if they aren't collected they either move to the next person who has placed a hold/recall, or if no-one else has requested the book, they go back to the shelves.
The Main Library Hold Shelf is in the Short Loan area next to the Library Service Desk, and operates on a self-service basis; the Hold Shelf in St Mary's Library and JF Allen Library is behind the Service Desk, Library staff at those sites will get books from the hold shelf for you.
Only the person who has placed the hold/recall can borrow the book set aside for them.
