If you see, from SAULCAT, that an item is on loan, you can use the 'Recall' button on the same screen to recall it. The person who has borrowed it will be sent an e-mail notice requesting its return, and you will be e-mailed when the item is available for collection. Each user will normally have an item for at least one week, except in the case of 3-day loan. When a 3 Day Loan item is recalled the due date will not change, however you'll receive an email to advise that someone else wants to use the book and you will not be able to renew it.
Fines for items which are overdue and have been recalled are £1 per item per day.
If you have recalled a book, we'll email you when it's ready for collection. For books located in the Main Library, you can collect your book from the Hold Shelf in the Short Loans area; for books located at St Marys Library or the JF Allen Library you can collect the book from the staff at the Library Service Desk in that Library.
