Thanks for completing a Library comments card the other week about the cleaning of our toilets in the morning. My sincere apologies for taking several weeks to send you this reply – I’ve been behind on answering enquiries.
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused to you on this occasion. Having spoken to our Building Operations Supervisor who is usually at work before we open at 8am, he has advised me that the cleaning staff normally try to keep the disabled toilet free on each floor as they work in the main toilets. That possibly wasn’t the case on this particular morning. He also tells me that it would be very unusual for all of the toilets on all floors to be closed off at the same time but I’m not completely clear from your feedback if you were referring just to level 2.
The cleaners will generally try to get the toilets finished and ready before the building opens but of course this may not always be possible depending on unforeseen circumstances. For example, if a toilet is particularly untidy one morning they will inevitably take longer to deal with it. I don’t think it would be useful to put up a notice advertising closed times given that our colleagues need to have flexibility in terms of when they can carry out their duties.
Hopefully this has been a one off but please let me know if you’ve experienced the situation since you first got in touch.
