Thanks for your comments and I'm sorry to hear that you've been finding the temperature in the north west corner of level 4 unpleasant.
You may be aware that the heating and ventilation problems in this building are long-standing. Despite significant investment from the University 3 years ago which resulted in our redevelopment project, we continue to face issues with the environmental conditions.
We have no immediate local control over the heating and air conditioning in the building and are dependent on our colleagues in Estates, to whom we have to report such problems.
Discussions are ongoing between Library and Estates management about finding an effective permanent solution to this problem. In the meantime, I have asked my colleagues in our Building Operations team to monitor this situation and report it to Estates as necessary.
