Thanks for your You Said We Did card a couple of weeks ago – sorry for being slow to respond. Thanks also for saying that you think we generally do a good job – always nice to read, especially on a sunny Friday morning!
In terms of the event at Lower College Hall that took place recently, I can totally see your point. Of course, as you say, these events are pretty infrequent and organised by various parts of the University who do not routinely forewarn the Library of what will be happening and when. I’ll have a think about what we may be able to do but I suspect it’s pretty limited.
There’s better news on the MacBook charger front! I have just spoken to a colleague who happened to be in a meeting with our colleagues from IT Services this morning. ITS are planning to invest in new chargers but they’ll hopefully be catalogued and added to our circulation system. That way, students will be able to do exactly as you suggest – borrow a charger and if they fail to return it, they’ll be subject to the same rules and regulations as they would be with books.
