Thank you for completing a comments card. I'm really pleased that you like the study space provided at Martyrs Kirk. We were keen to develop a high quality space in keeping with the building, and it's good to know that our efforts are appreciated. It's also reassuring to know that users of the space are following the guidance on noise, and eating and drinking. Remember that in the unlikely event that there is noise, you can let us know by texting "Noise" and your location to 07740 421569, and one of our attendants will come and check things out.
Thanks for your three suggestions to improve the space. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be introducing 24/7 access any time soon, but we will continue to monitor the use of the space, and if it becomes clear that longer opening times are needed, then we'll investigate this. Unfortunately the door at the side is a fire door and needs to be closed, I appreciate it can be an inconvenience when you want to use the conveniences! With older buildings we often have to work with these idiosyncrasies. Currently there are no plans to put any vending machines in Martyrs Kirk, there's a limited amount of space, and the facilities (water etc) to allow for this, and if we provide these services, we may find it difficult to stop people bringing food and drink into the reading room, which we really hope to avoid.
I hope you continue to find the reading room a good place to work.
Thanks again for you positive feedback.
