As you rightly point out, many of our collections are now digital and therefore only available to our staff and students. Due to the licensing conditions attached to the University’s purchase of these collections, we have little choice but to limit access in order that we remain compliant with our license obligations.
However, there are a number of electronic resources that publishers allow us to make available to non-student/staff members of the Library. During the last academic session, we installed a “walk-in access” PC on Level 3 of the Main Library that members of the public can use to access these resources. If you would like to make use of this resource, our colleagues at the IT Helpdesk on Level 2 can issue you with a username and password. They can also provide you with the details of the resources that you are allowed to use.
