Thanks for your recent comments on one of our You Said We Did feedback cards – my apologies for taking a few weeks to send you a reply.
I’m glad to read that you like our facilities at Martyrs so much. We have done some work in recent weeks to reduce the amount of signage in the building so hopefully you’ve noticed this already and feel that it’s better. We’re going to do more if we can but obviously as a predominantly unstaffed facility, signage is the main way that we can communicate information to our users about what they can and cannot do in this beautiful space. In our experience, a lack of adequate, prominent signage can result in confusion and a different type of complaint – i.e. that we have not be clear enough!
However, I would agree that an appropriate balance can be struck and we will take another look at this. Our recycling bins are I’m afraid very essential for this space but they have been recently moved to a less prominent position in the foyer.
