Thank you for completing a "You said, We did" card letting us know what you think about the Library.
I'm sorry you've found it too cold in the Library at night. We've had a lot of comments about the temperature in the Library recently, most saying it's too hot! The temperature can vary across the floors of the library, generally cooler around the periphery and warmer in the middle of the floors. If you find the temperature isn't comfortable please let us know, it's also useful to know where in the Library you are referring to, each desk is numbered, so supplying this allows us to identify problem areas, and also the time and date. We are working with our colleagues in Estates to find solutions to the heating problems we experience in the Library.
We're also working with Estates to try to find ways to increase the number of desks with sockets. At the moment every desk on Level 2, and all the desks around the periphery of Levels 3 and 4 have power. We're currently unable to get power to the rest of the desks on Levels 3 and 4 as we have a concrete floor on each of these floors. Various options are being explored and we hope to get power to these desks in the future.
We've also been asked about providing staplers and hole punches on each floor. Again we're looking to see where we could locate these, but in the meantime you'll find these near the printers on level 2.
Thanks again for your feedback,
Academic Liaison Librarian
