Thank you for taking the time to complete a "You said, We did" card recently. I'm sorry you've not been able to get access to the book you needed to take home. Unfortunately with some books, the demand is such that we need to place copies into Short Loan. We try where possible to provide different loan periods for books.
We're looking at the loan options at the moment to see if it's possible to introduce a longer option than short loan for books which are in demand, in order to provide more flexibility for borrowers.
You may not be aware that you can make suggestions to the Library to buy additional copies of texts which you are having difficully getting hold of - just email email@example.com with the details and we'll try to buy additional copies. You can also use Morebooks if you'd like to suggest a title the Library doesn't have.
As you haven't given any details of the book I'm unable to give a specific reason why so many copies are in Short Loan, but if you can let me know then I can investigate for you.
