Thank you for completing a “You said, We did” card recently relating to SCONUL member borrowing rights. We are sorry you were disappointed to find that you couldn't take DVDs out of the Library, borrowing them using your SCONUL access card. We don’t currently allow SCONUL members to borrow DVDs, a policy which is reflected by most Universities involved in the scheme. At St Andrews this is because our DVD collection is provided primarily for our Film Studies students to use, as well as to support teaching in general. The SCONUL General User Guide gives details of what services you can expect from your SCONUL membership.
Although you can't take DVDs out of the Library, you can view them in the building. We have two DVD players available in the Library to allow any member to view our DVDs. The players are located at the desks nearest the DVDs.
I hope this helps and thanks again for your comments.
