Thank you for completing a "You said, We did" card recently relating to the Morebooks service and recalls.
I'm sorry you're dissatisfied with the speed of the Morebooks service, most of the feedback we've received from Morebooks users has been very positive. We try very hard to ensure we get the books requested as quickly as possible, understanding that if someone is requesting something it's because they would like access as soon as possible. You've suggested that buying books can't take over a month, but unfortunately sometimes it does! There are a number of factors which impact on this, most of these are related to the availability of the book - if there's a delay in publication, or we're waiting for a reprint then this will cause delays beyond our control. Most of the books we order are supplied very quickly - some in less than 24 hours, and if we are aware that a title is needed urgently we'll ask our supplier to rush the delivery. When the books arrives we place a hold for the requestor and will send an email to advise that the book is available. As you haven't said what book you're waiting for then I'm afraid I can't give a more specific reason for the delay you have experienced. Please feel free to email morebooks with the details and we'll check for you.
Thank you for your suggestion that we change the recall time during the holidays. As the Library will be closed 25th December 2014 - 4 January 2015 inclusive there will be no recalls during this time. I'm sorry that we will be unable to extend recall beyond this time as we still have students making use of the Library during the vacation time. If you have items recalled and you are away from St Andrews you have 1 week in which to return items, and you can post books to us. Please note if you post items back, make sure you ask the postal service to supply you with a proof of postage receipt.
