Thank you for completing a “You said, We did” card recently, relating to smoking areas outside the Library.

Currently there is a dedicated smoking area to the right of the entrance to the Library (as you enter the building) and we ask smokers to use this area in the hope that remaining space around the Library would be smoke free.  In the past we didn’t have a designated smoking area, which tended to result in smokers spreading out across the perimeter of the Library.

Our staff monitor smoking outside the building, and will ask smokers to move to the smoking area if they are aware of any who have moved beyond this area.  Please let a member of staff know if you are aware of people smoking in any area other than the smoking area and we’ll ask them to move, and ensure they are aware of where smoking is currently permitted.

Thanks for your comments, we take feedback from our users into consideration when we are looking at the services and facilities we provide, and in planning for the future.
