Thank you for completing a "You said, We did" card about noise from the Napier Reading Room reception causing disturbance in the Thomson Reading Room. Please accept our apologies in the delay in getting back to you. Currently there are no plans to further soundproof this area, but we can investigate this. Unfortunately I don't think asking staff at the Reception, or visitors, to whisper would be a viable option, both need to be able to communicate effectively, and we want to ensure that any answers we give to enquiries are audible, whispering could also lead to miscommunication and confusion, something we're keen to avoid.
Thanks for letting us know that this is a concern.
