To gain access to Library resources when you’re away from the University Network, you need to sign in with each of the services. For most resources you will be prompted to login using your University e-mail and password as soon as you click on a link in library search, A-Z of Databases or one of our subject guides.

If you go directly to a resource rather than via one of our links then you will need to find the correct login option. Different suppliers of resources use different terminology for the access route you need to use, so within the sign in options look for:

  • Institutional Login
  • Shibboleth Login
  • UK Federation or Access Management Federation

If you are experiencing problems accessing specific resources and would like some help, please email Library@st-andrews.ac.uk with the details of the resource you are trying to access and the problem you are experiencing, and we’ll get back to you.
