Q. Is there anywhere in the Library where I can view a CD-Rom?

Sometimes books come with accompanying materials on CD-Rom, but none of the computers in the Library have drives to allow me to view this.

The Library now have some USB DVD drives.  Just ask at the Library Service Desk if you'd like to borrow one.  They're really easy to use:

  • Attach the cable to the USB DVD device
  • Plug the USB cable into the computer you're using (if you're using a university PC, the USB ports are on the underside of the monitor)
  • The drivers will install automatically, it takes just a few moments
  • Put your CD/DVD into the drive and then access it from the folder which will appear on the computer screen.

Enjoy the gentle whirring sound.....
