Q. How can I return books when the Library is closed?

Returning students and other Library members

Current loans have been renewed until 30th September 2020. Please hold on to items in the meantime and return them when you are able to.

Students graduating in July

If you are still in St.Andrews, items can be returned to the external book drop while out shopping for necessities or daily exercise as per current government guidelines.

If you are living in a hall of residence, items can be packed in a box or bag, which should be clearly marked ‘Library Books’, and left in the hall. We will pick up items from all halls once staff have access to the library/library re-opens.

Students no longer in St.Andrews. Please return all items, by post, to the following address –

User Services
University Library
North Street
St Andrews
Fife
KY16 9TR

If returning to empty your accommodation, items can be returned through the external book drop when you return to St.Andrews.

Please note that returned items will not be checked in from your Library account until Library staff are back working onsite.

If you have any queries please email library@st-andrews.ac.uk or use our instant chat service (available from the Library homepage).
