Q. How can I find images to use in my work?

Images are like other creative work and are protected by copyright. If you are including them in your work then you should make sure your use of them is legal.

If you want to find images you can use without seeking permission from the individual copyright owner then search the library's image databases (which allow re-use in an educational context) or find images which are under a Creative Commons licence.

You can find out more about these type of licences and links to databases which include images suitable for you to use on our images guide.

When using images you should always reference them and include any copyright statement or details of the type of licence it has been produced under.
