You will need to add a webpage to Endnote manually.

In Endnote select Reference from the menu and choose New Reference:

  • In the New Reference box change the Reference type to Web page
  • In the Author box enter the name of the person or organisation responsible for the webpage.  If it's an organisation add a comma to the end of the name to ensure correct formatting of the name when you add the reference to a document
  • In the Year field enter either a year created or updated, if neither of these are available check for a copyright year
  • In the Title field enter the title of the webpage
  • In the Access Date field enter the date you accessed the webpage in the format required for the referencing style you are using (e.g. for Harvard this would be DD Month YYYY)  Some referencing style don't require an access date, check the requirements for your style.
  • In the Type of Medium field enter Webpage or Internet, etc.  Some referencing style don't require a Type of Medium field, check the requirements for your style.
  • In the Date Cited field enter the date you cited the webpage in the format required for the referencing style you are using (e.g. for Harvard this would be DD Month YYYY)  Some referencing style don't require a Date Cited, check the requirements for your style.
  • In the URL field enter the full URL for the specific page you are citing.
  • Save the record.

You can preview your webpage reference by selecting the Summary tab for the reference, then selecting your chosen style:

If the reference doesn't match the requirements of your style you can edit it.  You can email Library@st-andrews.ac.uk if you need advice on how to edit your reference to ensure it displays correctly for the style you are using.
