The university doesn't have a subscription to access British Standards Online (BSO) and they are not available via Inter-Library Loan.  However the National Library of Scotland do have access, if you have a Scottish address you can register for membership of the National Library of Scotland and gain access to most of their e-resources including British Standards Online.

To register for a National Library of Scotland account go to https://www.nls.uk/guides/how-to-register/ and complete the online registration process.  You'll received an email with a confirmation link, when you click the link in the email the registration process will be complete.

Then go to https://auth.nls.uk/eresources/browse/title/B and login (see the login button at the top right of the page).  Once logged in scroll down the 'B' list to British Standards Online and use the link to access it.

You can browse or search for British Standards.  When you find one you want click the title to open the record.

You can view the standard online (quick view), if you want to download it you will need to install additional software, there are instructions for this when you click the title of the BS you want.

When you are finished using British Standards Online please log out.

If you do not have an address in Scotland please email library@st-andrews.ac.uk for assistance.
