Q. Filming and Photography in the Libraries

If you’d like to film or take photographs in any University Libraries, please follow these steps:

  1. Request Permission
Email the University’s Communications Office at communications@st-andrews.ac.uk for approval. This applies to students, staff, and external users.
  2. Coordinate with Libraries and Museums
Once approved, email library@st-andrews.ac.uk at least one week in advance to arrange details. We’ll notify users and, if needed, cordon off areas during filming or photography.
  3. Complete Release Forms
Ensure any users appearing in your filming or photography completes the necessary release forms.

This applies to:

  • Main Library
  • St Mary’s College Library (incl. King James Library)
  • Martyrs Kirk Research Library
  • JF Allen Library
  • Library at the Gateway
  • Walter Bower House Library

Thank you for respecting library users! If you have questions, email us at library@st-andrews.ac.uk.
