If you are using version 18.1 of Safari on a Mac you may find that the filters on the left-hand side of the screen aren't appearing properly. This slow rendering is a known Safari issue and not exclusively related to Library Search. To resolve this you can either use a different browser or go into the advanced settings in Safari and turn off "use advanced tracking and fingerprinting protection".
