Yes.  Enter your search terms into Library Search, as you type you'll see options to search Everything, Books, Articles or Rare Books.  Choose Books, or if you're looking for something in the Rare books collection choose Rare books

Search box contains the words wuthering heights. Beneath the search box are four options wuthering heights Everything, wuthering heights Books, wuthering heights Articles, wuthering heights Rare Books, there's a green box to highlight that wuthering heights books should be selected/

The results will only show books which match your search.

We recommend you enter the title of the book you want and the surname of the author to limit the number of items found.

If you want to search for books by author rather than title use the Advanced Search:

  • Click Advanced Search to the right of the search box
  • In the 'Search for' area you can select to limit to Everything, Books, Articles or Rare Books
  • In the first search change the field search from 'Title' to 'Author/Creator' and enter the author name in the search box

Search Criteria. Search for Everything, Books, Articles, Rarebooks. The radio button for Books is selected and is highlighted. Search filters. Author/Creator contains Emily Bronte. The remaining search field is blank. There are options on the right to limit by Material Type, Language with dropdowm menus for these, and the option to limit by Start date and End date with dropdowns for day montg and year.

Click the Search option at the bottom right of the Advanced Search box.  In the example given above the Books option is selected, the Author/Title field has been selected and the author name entered in the box.  You can search for an author using their full name or surname, first name or surname initials, or surname only.
