Q. How do I recommend a book for the Library to purchase?

I would like the Library to consider purchasing a book which isn't currently held in the collection, what's the process?

The Library accepts books recommendations for students via a book recommendation form.

Inter-Library Loan?

Before you submit a recommendation for purchase also consider if Inter-Library loans could meet your needs.  Inter-Library Loan can supply:

  • A scan of 1 chapter or 10% of a book
  • A loan of a book for a period of time

Make an inter-library loan request or find out more about inter-library loans.

Submit a book recommendation

To submit a book recommendation  please complete the book recommendation form.  Provide as much information as possible to assist Library staff in sourcing the correct book.

Who can I contact about the book purchase request?

If you have any questions about your request email Library@st-andrews.ac.uk
