The Drama Online database includes the full texts of plays from across the history of theatre. The University has access to some but not all of the collections.

The collections which are available to you are:

  • Core Collection (a range of playtexts from ancient drama, Shakespeare through to contemporary plays)
  • Core Collection: Pre-Modern and 19th Century Drama (playtexts from Methuen Drama, The Arden Shakespeare and Faber and Faber
  • Core Collection: 20th Century Drama (playtexts from Methuen Drama and Faber and Faber)
  • Core Collection: 21st Century Drama (playtexts from Methuen Drama and Faber and Faber)
  • Nick Hern Books (a range of plays from UK and Ireland's playwrights)

You can check which collection a play belongs to by looking at the content set information underneath the details of the play.

If you want to find out which plays are included in the collections we have access to click on Collections at the top of the Drama Online screen, choose the one you wish to explore and you will get the option to view a list of titles.
