The Library holds a wide variety of both physical and digital format dictionaries.

Available dictionaries can be located on the Library catalogue using Library Search.  You can search by title or keyword, for example "Oxford English Dictionary" or "French Dictionary", to refine results. You can also use the filters on the left hand side of the page to limit search results to 'Available Online' or 'Available in print' to refine by format preference.

Most of our physical dictionary collection is located in the Main Library Level 1. Dictionaries in this location will specify 'Dictionary Collection' in the shelf mark and are borrowable.

The Library subscribes to the electronic version of the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), which is widely regarded as the accepted authority on the English language.  Other online collections we hold which contain dictionaries of other languages or dictionaries relevant to a particular topic include:

You can also search our A-Z of eResources to see our full list of reference materials.
