The University's subscription to the Factiva news database does not include access to the API. For most research activities the download options available in the database will be adequate. However, if you require large amounts of data then there are restrictions on what you can extract at one time.
Our licence does not give a total figure for downloading in bulk but says that articles can't be downloaded "beyond what would be humanely possible to read on a daily basis". Care should be taken not to exceed this to ensure we do not breach the terms of our agreement. This may result in both you and the University being blocked from using the service.
Our Academic Liaison Librarians can assist in helping you refine your search in order to ensure the results are as relevant as possible before you start downloading content. Please contact us at library@st-andrews.ac.uk with details of your research topic and the search terms and strategy you have used in your initial search in Factiva
