If an item is on loan, you can use the Recall option on the record to request it. See this video which demonstrates recalling a book The default pick-up location is the Main Library, but you can select JF Allen Library or St Mary's Library using the drop-down options if you prefer. The person who has borrowed it will be sent an e-mail requesting its return, and you will be e-mailed when the item is available for collection. For books located in the Main Library, you can collect your book from the Hold Shelf in the Short Loans area; for books located at St Marys Library or the JF Allen Library you can collect the book from the hold shelf in that Library.
For 4-week loan items the due date will change if there are more than 7 days remaining in the loan, the date will change to 7-days from the date the recall was placed. When a 3 Day Loan item is recalled the due date will not change, however you'll receive an email to advise that someone else wants to use the book and you will not be able to renew it.
Fines for items which are overdue and have been recalled are £2 per item per day.
If you have recalled a book, we'll email you when it's ready for you to collect.
